While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its doors was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .

From the moment I stepped inside , it was clear that upkeep was not a priority at Masterson’s . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and filthy restrooms permeated the entire venue . Smelling a mixture of excrement , putrefaction and a sickly smell. The counter , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The bathroom was in even a more revolting state — backed up, with a cracked flush mechanism and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
It wasn’t just a isolated occurrence either. Going through other patrons’ reviews and chatting with the community, it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at this pub is a well-known flaw . Many patrons have reported observing cockroaches darting across the counter and signs of rats in the adjoining rooms. For a business that serves drinks , these issues are completely unacceptable and raise serious concerns about the safety of their products .
